Penta, which started as a start-up in a small office in 1990, is one of Turkey's leading value-added technology distribution companies today that distribute the most advanced global and local technology products rapidly and reliably. Penta, whose most important value is human resources, has more than 340 employees.
Penta built Turkey's first B2B site in the field of informatics in 1997 and took the HP distributorship in 2005. Penta has become the fourth fastest growing company in Turkey when all sectors are taken into account, with a growth of approximately 35 times between 1997-2007
Since the day it was founded, Penta has been working with the aim of making its business partners more efficient, profitable and competitive with its expertise in technology, operational efficiency, diverse financial solutions, strong supply chain and robust IT infrastructure.
Penta, distributing more than 40 global technology brands in Turkey, delivered products to approximately 30 thousand delivery points in 2021 as the sole distributor of 15 of them in Turkey. Offering end-to-end solutions with over 9.000 business partners, the Company makes a difference in the sector with its value-added distributorship activities and digitalization investments developed in the field of technology distribution.
In 2011, Penta made a strategic partnership with Mersa Sistem, owned by Yıldız Holding, one of the leading companies in the IT distribution industry, and merged with Mersa Sistem under the name Penta Teknoloji at the end of 2012, becoming the second largest company in the industry. In the following years, in line with its sector leadership goal and strategy of investing in value-added distribution, by acquiring Medyasoft, Ekip Elektronik, Beyaz İletişim, Sayısal Grafik and Exper Bilgisayar, Penta Teknoloji has enriched its product range.
Penta, with its value-added business model, carries out its activities with the vision of "Making all stakeholders happy".
As one of Turkey's most rooted technology distributor, with an experience of more than 30 years in the industry, Penta has added a new one to its achievements with its initial public offering, it started to be traded on Borsa Istanbul Yıldız Market with the code “PENTA” as of May 2021.
Penta in Numbers
- Distributing information technology products; especially computer, software and hardware products, Penta closed 2021 with a revenue of 636 million USD, a growth of %5,9 in USD. The average growth rate of the last three years is 5,4%.
- Penta's gross profit margin was 7,2% in 2021. The EBITDA level, which was US$ 21 million in 2018, reached US$ 34 million in 2021, with an annual average growth of 18,2%. The Company's EBITDA margin, which was 5,6% in 2020, is 5,4% in 2021.
- The ratio of Penta's operating expenses to revenue, which was 2,1% in 2020, is 1,9% in 2021.
- Penta places importance to channeling its working capital, which is one of the most important resources, to the right, profitable and stable cash-generating channels, customers and brands. The ratio of the company's working capital to revenue decreased from 21% in 2018 to 16% in 2021. This shows that with the increase in revenue, Penta has improved its activities without increasing the working capital at the same rate.
- Penta has reached to 34% in 2021 in its working capital profitability with a rising trend, from 18% in 2018.
